A Summer away

Summer has finally arrived in Australia, and I am definitely starting to feel the heat! As I adjust to the overwhelming heat, I felt the need to make a trip down to the beach and enjoy the sunshine. The crazy thing is how different summer is in Australia in comparison to Italy. This year I left Australia's winter to go to Italy's summer. It was lovely. The summer is much cooler and less humid.

This made me reflect on how lovely my summer trip was. When I was in Italy, my friends and I were invited to the exhibition "A Glimpse at Photo Vogue - 101 Photographers", which was located at Carla Sozzani gallery.

The gallery took a while to find, as it was quite well hidden. There is a beautiful garden entrance and a garden themed cafe at the front, and the gallery was upstairs, with the lovely view of the garden.

What I wore:
Top- Emma in the World
Skirt - Paris Couture
Heels - ALDO
Purse- Mui Mui
Red Nail Polish - Yves Saint-Laurent

That very night, we were also invited to go to Just Cavalli's 3rd Anniversary party, which was an all white theme! It was terribly exciting, however we were all terribly exhausted and didn't make it. All in all, it was such a lovely summer holiday, and I look forward to spending a wonderful Australian summer this season.

A girl's treasure

Every girl has their fashion treasure, whether it's a favourite dress, shoe, jewellery or bag. One of my treasures would have to be my cross body monogram Louis Vuitton bag! I love a lot of my bags, however, this is very special to me as it is from France and a limited edition. Limited editions always makes an item seem so much more special! It is cute, casual and very useful.

Denim Quilt

Finally! After long nights, deprived sleep and a hard load of study, it's over! I am at last on holidays.
Couldn't post much during my exam periods as I could hardly find any spare time, although I so desperately wanted to share many great things to my lovely readers and followers. However, now that I have much more free time, I am happy to say I will have the opportunity to post more often with some exciting posts to come.

I now also have Bloglovin which is exciting, and a new Facebook account for Australian Couture. So, please feel free to add/follow me! I would love to chat and get to know my amazing fellow bloggers and readers!

With one semester out of the way, I thought it would be great to buy a little casual bag for the coming semesters. Sometimes in university, certain tutorials or lectures do not require me to bring my heavy textbook but rather an iPad or such to to take notes. I wanted a small bag that would fit a notebook, few pens, my mobile, some make up and an iPad. I know that my Louis Vuitton and Mui Mui bags could do just the thing, however I wanted something a little more casual for everyday use.

After a fun day of shopping with my best friend, I came across this adorable denim quilted bag from PeepToe . It has little pockets for my mobile and a zip section for my make up and pens and best of all it fits my iPad perfectly!

I am absolutely in love with it! What do you think of it? What bag do you use for casual occasions?

SHEIKE chic

For those who live in Brisbane,  you may have noticed the new renovations at Wintergarden (on Queen st Mall), if not, it is definitely worth visiting!
Anyways, I have been visiting Wintergarden ever since the renovation and loving it! There are great shops opening up there. One of which, I had never heard of until recently. This store is called "SHEIKE", which is an Australian owned fashion label. They have stores throughout Sydney and Brisbane, as well as having an online store!

Here are some of their items, let me know what you think! Sophia xx

A little bit Bazaar!

Previously during my stay in Bristol, I went to a restaurant called "Za Za Bazaar" and I absolutely loved my experience there. It was a buffet, but to a whole new level with many different stations and cuisine!
So back in Australia, when I heard there was another buffet restaurant called "Bazaar", of course I had to visit! I decided to take my mother there for Mother's Day dinner. It was lovely, Za Za Bazaar and Bazaar were both great buffets, with very different concepts.

On the Mother's day, when I went to Bazaar with my Mother, I wore a French rabbit fur vest that used to be my mother's. This vest means a lot to me and I absolutely love it.

Amazing sweets!

What I wore on the night:
White Blouse - Zara
French Rabbit Fur Vest - Vintage
Leggings - Witchery
Chain & Leather Bracelet - SSFW
Black Leather Boot Heels - ZU

Hope you all have a great and bazaar night (:

L’ORÉAL INDEPENDENT RUNWAY

The second show that I attended at the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival was the L'Oreal Independent Runway. This show was all about emerging Australian Designers including Extinct, Francis Leon, Garth Cook, Jolet, ksubi Livia Arena, Lui Hon, One Fell Swoop, Something Else and Song For The Mute. Fortunately, I had the privilege of sitting at the front for this show so I was able to get some great photos! Here are some of my favourite photos and designs from the show.

Garth Cook
I have always been a huge fan of tartan. Garth Cook used tartan with great and vibrant colours.

Personally, this designer was the highlight of the show. Especially because of the artificial element designs.
